We’re deeply disappointed to share that we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the NYC Congenital Heart Walk due to the strong winds and severe weather conditions associated with the approaching nor’easter.

The NYC Congenital Heart Walk was created to bring our community together for a joyful day with remembrance of heart angels and a celebration of heart warriors.  Unfortunately, the nor’easter storm will prevent us from providing a safe experience.

The safety of our Heart Warriors, families, participants, ​committee, volunteers, sponsors, medical partners, vendors, and entire community is our highest priority. 

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and understand the disappointment this may cause, especially after so much time and effort has gone into preparing for this special day.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this year's Walk possible. We know how much time, energy, dedication, and heart went into preparing for tomorrow, and we share your disappointment.  Most importantly, thank you to our Heart Warriors, Heart Angels’ families, and the entire CHD community. You are at the heart of everything we do.

While we cannot gather together this weekend, our mission continues. Dollars raised and every person who supported the Walk helps advance congenital heart defect research and brings hope to families affected by CHD.  

A few important notes for our fundraisers:

  • If you earned a Walk T-shirt by raising $100 or more, your T-shirt will be sent to your team captain for distribution (individuals not on a team will be sent a tshirt separately).

  • If you earned a fundraising incentive, you will receive an email after October 26 with a link to redeem your incentive.

  • Our auction will remain open until 5pm https://event.gives/nycheartwalk26/items

What to Bring / What's Allowed

✅ Strollers & wagons: Absolutely welcome!
✅ Heart Warrior/Angel photos: We provide special display areas to honor your loved ones
✅ Coolers: Permitted (non-alcoholic beverages and food only, unless restricted by venue)
✅ Comfortable walking shoes: Recommended for the 1-mile route
✅ Sun protection: Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses suggested
✅ Team spirit: Wear your team shirts, tutus, costumes, or CHD awareness gear!
✅ Pets: Check venue-specific rules on the Event Details tab (leashed pets permitted at most locations)

❌ Not permitted: Alcohol, weapons, drones, or smoking on the walk route
