Los Angeles Congenital Heart Walk

I want to say a giant THANK YOU (Yes, I am yelling it with glee!) to everyone who is going to walk with us or donate to my team, Yara's Fan Club!

This walk is my family's first participation for my daughter. She was born with a CHD, bicuspid AVS with regurgitation. We did not find out until two days after her birth. It was very traumatic for us, and her NICU stay felt uncertain and scary, to say the least.

We want to walk for our daughter and all of the children born with CHDs. I do not want her to feel that she is ever alone, and I want her to know she has a community surrounding her - whether that is blood family, other children like her, or people who care about research and funding for CHDs. This will be an annual fundraising and walking for our family.

This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation and their crucial mission - advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research.
