Why I’m Walking

Congenital heart disease has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was born with a congenital heart defect and had a Fontan procedure as a child, so the Congenital Heart Walk is something that feels especially meaningful to me.

This year, I’m walking with Team Climbing Hearts to support The Children’s Heart Foundation and the research that continues to move CHD care forward.

The Children’s Heart Foundation is celebrating 30 years of funding CHD research this year. So much has changed because of research, but there is still so much we don’t know.

There are kids being born with CHD today who will grow up with questions about their hearts that we don't have answers to yet. There are also adults living with CHD who need better options and a better understanding of what it means to live with their hearts long-term.

That’s why this research matters to me.
