Emaline was born with a Double Aortic Arch which formed a Vascular Ring around her trachea and esophagus. Only 1 in 20,000 babies are believed to have this type of anatomy. Her first year of life was truly terrifying but she finally had life saving surgery at Boston Children's Hospital when she was 11 months old. 

Vascular Rings are a rare form of Congenital Heart Defect and are quite misunderstood. Our goal is to raise awareness of this condition and other Congenital Heart Defects. 1 in 100 children are born with some form of CHD, and many require immediate open-heart surgery after birth.

I will forever be a Heart Mama, and this is one small way to give back to all the other Heart Mamas out there!
