LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY "WHY"...

Hi there,

Why do I walk for congenital heart defect (CHD) research? This cause, the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation, is very personal for me. My nephew and godson Jackson was born with three CHDs - his case took the form of two atrial septal defects and one extremely large verticular septal defect. Without the advances that CHF-funded research has made possible, he likely would have had to undergo more surgeries and miss out on the active, hockey-playing childhood he enjoys now. There is also the chance that he wouldn’t have survived at all.

HE is my "why."

My family and I are very lucky to have such a robust organization devoted to fighting the most common birth defect. A baby is newly diagnosed every 15 minutes, which means an entire family’s life changed in the time I spent crafting this message.
