Amazing Grace

I want to express my heartfelt thanks for taking a moment to visit my fundraising page.

My twin granddaughters Grace and Abigail were born on June 12, 2008. However, Grace was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She spent two months in the NICU where she underwent two surgeries. In November of that year, she went back for another procedure. She recovered nicely and started to catch up with her twin sister. Then in May 2011, she had her next procedure in which she was on bypass for over five hours. But once again, our "Amazing Grace" surprised us all and after three weeks of recovery in the hospital, she was able to come home!

Grace and Abigail will be 16 in June. It seems like only yesterday that they were babies...one came home from the hospital, the other remained with tubes and monitors. But Grace is "Amazing"!! She's a sophomore in high school, where she is an honor student and plays on the Varsity Golf Team. She is doing well, but will always have more doctors to see.

My commitment to making a difference has led me to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk, an event that carries immense significance for me. It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward changing lives. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation and their crucial mission - advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research.
