On December 30, 2024, our world changed forever when we lost our son, Skyler Aaron Michael Pfromm, at just 15 years old.

Skyler was born with a complex congenital heart defect and spent his entire life proving that a heart doesn’t have to be perfect to love fiercely, laugh loudly, and leave an incredible mark on everyone around him. He faced more than most people ever will, yet he never let his diagnosis define who he was. He was funny, stubborn, kind, and full of life. He loved music, making people laugh, and keeping us on our toes.

Congenital heart defects affect nearly 1 in 100 babies born in the United States, and while medical advances have allowed so many children like Skyler to grow up, there is still so much we don’t know. Research saves lives. It gives families hope. It gives children more birthdays, more memories, and more time.

Although we would give anything for one more day with Skyler, we can honor him by helping create a future where more children with CHD have the chance to grow up.

I’m raising funds in Skyler’s memory to support congenital heart defect research, education, and advocacy. Every donation, no matter the size, helps move us closer to better treatments, better understanding, and ultimately better outcomes for families facing this journey.
