This year, I’m walking with even greater purpose as The Children’s Heart Foundation celebrates 30 incredible years of funding research that saves lives and changes futures. For my family, this mission is deeply personal.
Our son, Anthony Audish, was born with a critical congenital heart defect. Before he was even born, doctors discovered his condition during pregnancy, and he underwent a fetal cardiac intervention in an attempt to save his heart. Since birth, Anthony has endured multiple heart procedures and open-heart surgeries, including the Ross procedure. His journey has been filled with challenges, courage, and countless medical appointments, but through it all, he has shown incredible strength and resilience.
Because of advancements in congenital heart research, children like Anthony have opportunities that previous generations never had. The treatments, surgeries, and care that have given our son the chance to grow, learn, laugh, and celebrate birthdays are only possible because organizations like The Children’s Heart Foundation continue to invest in life-saving research.
That’s why I’m participating in the Congenital Heart Walk. It’s more than just a walk—it’s a way to honor Anthony’s journey, celebrate every Heart Warrior, remember those we’ve lost, and help create an even brighter future for children and families facing congenital heart disease.
