Detroit Congenital Heart Walk ○ Hotrod Shelly's Butterfly Pit Crew

In Honor of Michelle Kay Robison February 26, 1971 - June 4, 2023

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! In loving memory of Michelle Kay Robison, a true fighter who defied the odds. Michelle was diagnosed with Tricuspid Atresia with a right septal defect and underwent two open heart surgeries at just five months old, including the Waterston Shunt. Though she faced complications after the first surgery, her resilience led her to a second operation. At five years old, she underwent the Blalock-Thomas-Taussig procedure, followed by the Fontan surgery at age 10. In May 2013, Michelle underwent her fifth surgery, an updated Fontan procedure, along with a unique innovation by her surgeon: redirecting her inferior vena cava from her liver and connecting it directly to her heart.

Against all odds, my mom, Michelle surpassed every expectation. She was told she wouldn't see her first birthday or have children, but she proved them wrong. Michelle's unwavering determination and fighting spirit were truly inspirational. Her deep passion for helping children and those in need was embodied in her love for The Children's Heart Foundation, a cause she held dear.

Join me in honoring Michelle's memory and supporting my fundraising efforts for the Congenital Heart Walk. By contributing to the Children's Heart Foundation, we can make a difference in the lives of children facing similar challenges. Let's continue Michelle's legacy of strength and compassion as we work to advance research, improve treatments, and provide hope for those affected by congenital heart defects. Together, we can create a brighter future and celebrate the incredible spirit of a true fighter.
