After Quinn's 24 hour newborn screening, we were told that the tests revealed that Quinn had a coarctation of the aorta and a large VSD, which would require repair. Over the next several months, we were caught in a whirlwind of uncertainty, anxiety, and feelings only known by parents seeing their child fight for their life. At ten days old, Quinn underwent a successful open heart surgery at the Cleveland Clinic where she recovered well over the next month. During that time we became residents of the CC ICU and although Quinn was dealing with her own CHD complications, we quickly realized that we were the lucky ones. Many other children faced much more complex CHD challenges. There were families that were providing strength, love, and support for their heart warriors for months that required several invasive surgeries, transplants, or miracles. We are forever grateful to those at the CC that helped our little girl, the other heart warriors and families that provided inspiration and support, and our family, friends, and acquaintances that provided prayers and positivity. Our teams' mission is to raise funding to support families during these unprecedented times of stress.

Quinn underwent a minimally invasive follow-up procedure to balloon her repaired aorta at 9 months old. Other than that, she has been thriving. Quinn is fierce, determined, and quite hilarious. Although she may not know it yet, she is a hero to her Mommy and Daddy. Quinn brightens our days, made our family closer, and has made us better people. Please help us to provide funding for more screenings, new technologies, and comforting support to families that CHD effect.
