Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs the most common birth defect in our country. The Congential Heart Walk series supports the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congential heart defects (CHDs) by funding the most promising research.

As you may know, Molly’s congenital heart defect, Transposition of the Great Arteries, was diagnosed at a routine fetal echo, at 22 weeks. Thanks to prior funding for heart research, Molly had nothing but immaculate care and treatment for her CHD from the moment it was diagnosed. After Molly's open heart surgery at 6 days old, and two follow up procedures at 4 months and 11 months, she is a thriving toddler! Molly loves to eat, walk and climb, play with her brothers, eat, read books, cuddle her "babies" and also eat. We’re able to see her smile and laugh every day, thanks to the technology and advancements made possible by congenital heart research.
