Marina, Abby, and I will be walking with team Heartbeats for Katie, in the Congenital Heart Walk, to raise money for the Children's Heart Foundation.  Marina was born with a congenital heart defect which she had repaired as an infant. She is not expected to need any more interventions for this. Katie, one of Abby's friends, has needed multiple interventions and has had complications, but she is has bravely faced these battles. We are all thankful for the past research which has given both Marina and Katie the interventions they have needed. 

Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs the most common birth defect in our country. The Congenital Heart Walk is dedicated to making a difference. Our mission is clear - we aim to raise funds to support The Children's Heart Foundation in its quest to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding groundbreaking research.
