Thank you for visiting our team page! This is our 3rd year participating in the Congenital Heart Walk. On August 30, 2022, we lost our baby girl, Layla Jane, to a congenital heart defect. Layla was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and though she fought hard, it turned out to be more than her body could handle. We kissed her goodbye and we vowed to do our best to honor her and to try and make a difference. That year, we joined the Congenital Heart Walk and raised over $5,000 for The Children's Heart Foundation, thanks to the incredible love and support from our family and friends. This year, we have two reasons to walk. Our newest addition, Evan Michael, was born a healthy boy (what a relief), but a routine visit to the pediatrician would soon uncover a heart murmur. We now know that Evan has a mild coarctation of the aorta. While his CHD is far less severe than Layla's, it still fuels us to strive for change. 

Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs the most common birth defect in our country. The Congenital Heart Walk is dedicated to making a difference. Our mission is clear - we aim to raise funds to support The Children's Heart Foundation in its quest to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding groundbreaking research.
