Samuel was a very special little boy with a very special heart. He had Tetralogy of Fallot and a complete atrioventricular canal defect. The details of his congenital heart defects are unimportant.. just that they were complex and too much for his body to handle. He fought a very tough fight. We have never known a stronger or braver boy than our sweet Sammy Sunshine.
Sam lost his fight to congenital heart disease on April 21, 2024 at the too young age of 7 months, 1 week old. He had all of us (Mommy and Daddy, grandparents, aunts and uncles, nurses, doctors, techs, friends.. everyone) wrapped around his tiny little fingers. He was the greatest gift and he is so very, very missed.
So, we walk for Sam. We walk to show our love and honor his memory and have more opportunities to share him with anyone who will take a moment to listen. We walk to spread awareness of CHD so that maybe the next child with a heart like Sam can benefit from advancements. We walk for everyone affected by CHD... but mostly we walk for Sam.
