My name is Audrey Koch, and I have formed this team in honor of children with a story like mine. I was born with several heart defects: transposition of the great arteries, pulmonary stenosis, an atrial septal defect, and a ventricular septal defect. Starting as a 1-month-old, I have now undergone 5 open heart surgeries and several cardiac catheterizations. Due to miraculous medical innovations, any future procedures will be performed in a less invasive manner. These innovations would not be possible without organizations such as the Children's Heart Foundation. Fortunately, I now live a very normal and active life at age 25, but my story is only one of millions.

Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs the most common birth defect in our country. The Congenital Heart Walk is dedicated to making a difference. Our mission is clear - we aim to raise funds to support The Children's Heart Foundation in its quest to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding groundbreaking research.
