My commitment to making a difference has led me to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk, an event that carries immense significance for me. 

We’re participating in the Congenital Heart Walk in honor of Andre, who passed away at just 9 months old. This will be our 3rd walk we have attended. Andre was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS)—a severe congenital heart defect thatt meant the left side of his heart was severely underdeveloped.

Andre received a series of open heart surgeries, his first being at 8 days old. He came home for the very first time after being in hospital for 73 days.

6 weeks after being home Dre went into severe heart failure. He was listed for transplant, and waited 157 days for his donor heart.  At 8 months old, he received a heart transplant on Decmeber 20th, 2022. 

Through it all, he was incredibly strong. He spent all but 6 weeks of his life in the hospital, fighting for every breath with courage and resilience. Nothing could stop the smile on his face every day.
