Audrey's Story

I want to express my heartfelt thanks for taking a moment to visit my fundraising page.

My daughter, Audrey, was diagnosed with Shones Complex (multiple left sided heart defects) in utero when I was 20 weeks pregnant. She had her her first open heart surgery at only 5 days old for coarctation of the aorta and a cardiac cath 6 weeks later for aortic valvuloplasty due to severe aortic stenosis. She had her second open heart surgery at 3 years old for a subaortic membrane resection and had to get a permanent pacemaker two weeks later due to complete heart block from the surgery. As Audrey continues to grow and as her heart gets bigger, she will need more interventions. She is currently being watched very closely by her cardiologist, Dr. Lee, and is seen every 6 months for a heart echo.

My commitment to making a difference has led me to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk, an event that carries immense significance for me. It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward changing lives. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation and their crucial mission - advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research.
