San Francisco/ Sacramento Congenital Heart Walk

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am participating in the Congenital Heart Walk to honor my daughter Olivia, who was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect after she was born. The funds raised support the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research.

Below is our story:

On June 7, 2022 my husband and I took our brand new baby in for her two day check up with our midwife. What was supposed to be a routine check up turned into a month-long stay at UC Davis Medical Center. Upon arriving at the emergency room our daughter was immediately diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, known as transposition of the great arteries. At three weeks old UC Davis pediatrics surgical team performed a life saving open heart surgery in order to correct the defect.

Today, our sweet girl, baby Olive is 7 1/2 months old and thriving. Without The Children's Heart Foundation this research would not be possible and life altering surgeries like the one my daughter went through would not be possible.
