Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs the most common birth defect in our country. But 1 in 4000 are born with hlhs making it one of the most uncommon heart diseases, estimated 1000 babies are born in the US yearly, the Cabrera family is lucky to have 1 Esai Mateo. Hlhs is a heart defect which affects the left side of the heart causing it to not develop causing them to only have half of the heart functioning. HLHS is a rare form of heart disease life expectancy is still unknown, there is no cure but there are corrections , a series of 3 open heart surgeries to reconstruct everything but with god all things are possible!
Esai has had 3 open heart surgeries all by his first 7months of life and one while in the womb, total of 4 along with many other procedures and therapy sessions Esai has been part of a clinical research which has helped give him a better quality of life!
Esai is a heaven sent angel a constant reminder how precious life is, Esai is silly gives the best cuddles , has the sweetest soul and a spunky personality he like to grunt at others to be silly he will melt your heart with his smile and his curls he is our Warrior Esai loves Ms Rachel and paw patrol and Moana ! Esai is living proof that miracles happen daily all with gods will, Esai would like to remind you when all odds are against you trust the lord and he will hold you close he is living proof !
