For the sixth year, I am fundraising for the Philadelphia Congenital Heart Walk on May 20 to support the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects (CHDs) by funding the most promising research. This cause is also very meaningful to me as someone living with CHD and having undergone open heart surgery four years ago.
Founded in 1996, the Children's Heart Foundation has funded over $16.5 million of congenital heart defect research and scientific collaborations, which have improved survival rates, longevity, and quality of life for individuals living with CHDs.
