Thank you for visiting our team page! We are walking with James, our little heart warrior, to support him and all other kids born with congenital heart defects. Every 15 minutes, a baby in this country is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs America's most common birth defect. The Congenital Heart Walk is dedicated to raising funds to support The Children's Heart Foundation's mission: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding the most promising research.

James was born with a serious congenital heart defect: tricuspid atresia, hypoplastic right heart syndrome and a ventricular septal defect. All this essentially means he has half of a working heart; a single ventricle. Because of research, modern medicine and incredible surgeons, James is thriving after two open heart surgeries. He is adventerous, funny, stubborn, and the sweetest 1 and a half year old. But he will still need at least one more open heart surgery and there is still no cure for CHD. There are people living with conditions like James' in adulthood with normal lives and bright futures, but more research needs to be done to work towards a cure.
