CeCe's Story

Cecilia was born on June 30th, 2024 at Maine Medical Center. Four weeks later, at her routine check up, the nurses and doctors heard a loud murmur in her heart. After meeting with a congenital heart specialist, we learned that CeCe was born with two Congenital Heart Defects and would most likely require open heart surgery to fix. Over the next six months she struggled daily to gain weight and breath. Any cold could put CeCe in the hospital because of the strain on her heart. Before Christmas we finally got the call that she would need open heart surgery in the new year. 
 

In February, the team at Maine Medical Center was able to fix both CHDs and give CeCe a chance at a normal life. We are forever grateful for that chance. 
 

Thanks to months of physical and occupational al therapy, CeCe is happy and healthy. She is the happiest girl we know and loves to follow her brother around doing everything he does.
