One year ago today, our sweet granddaughter was given the greatest gift imaginable — the chance to grow up with a healthy heart and a full, joyful life.
At just four weeks old, Cece was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. By eight months, she bravely underwent delicate open-heart surgery to repair multiple holes in her tiny heart. Watching her go through that was the hardest season our family has ever faced — but today, by God’s grace and the dedication of remarkable doctors and researchers, she is thriving. She runs, laughs, plays, and keeps us all on our toes like any happy little girl should.
We will never stop being grateful for The Children's Heart Foundation, now celebrating 30 years of funding lifesaving research that gives families like ours hope when they need it most.
In early May, Cece and our entire extended family will walk together in the Congenital Heart Walk in Boston. This isn’t just a walk for us — it’s a celebration of life, a thank-you, and a promise to help other families who are just beginning this journey.
