This year, I'm walking with extra purpose as both myself and the The Children's Heart Foundation are celebrating BIG milestones. 10 years ago I had my fourth open heart surgery. 10 years ago!!! That is a huge accomplishment for the advancement of research and practices to support children born with heart defects. I am even more elated because since that surgery I become a better advocate for myself and other heart warriors. The Children's Heart Foundation is also celebrating 30 incredible years of funding research that saves lives and changes futures. The CHF's commitment to me has encouraged my commitment to making a difference and help be a leading force behind creating community and supporting the treatments and surgical advancements that have saved lives, including mine. 

This event carries such immense signficiance for me due to the past efforts my family and friends who have rallied together for my family and I. It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward the next 30 years of hope. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation's crucial mission—advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research that improves survival rates, reduces complications, and helps Heart Warriors celebrate more birthdays than ever before.
