My Personal Fundraising Page

Cecilia was born on June 30, 2024, at Maine Medical Center. At four weeks old, during a routine checkup, doctors heard a heart murmur. After meeting with a congenital heart specialist, we learned that CeCe was born with two congenital heart defects and would likely need open-heart surgery.

 

The months that followed were challenging. CeCe struggled to gain weight and breathe, and even minor illnesses could lead to hospitalization due to the strain on her heart. Just before Christmas, we received the call confirming that she would need open-heart surgery in the new year.

 

In February, the team at Maine Medical Center successfully repaired both heart defects, giving CeCe the opportunity for a healthy future. We are deeply grateful for their skill and care.

 

Today, after months of physical and occupational therapy, CeCe is doing wonderfully. She is happy, healthy, and full of personality. She especially loves following her big brother around and copying everything he does.

 

CeCe’s progress would not have been possible without the research supported by the Children’s Heart Foundation and the dedicated team at Maine Medical Center. We hope you’ll consider supporting children like CeCe by helping fund the research and care that make stories like hers possible.
