As many of you know Ezekiel was diagnosed with Truncus Arteriosus Type 1, VSD, and IA while in utero in 2020. Ez went through his first Open Heart surgery at only 7 days old in 2021, where he was in the CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) for 30 days. For his 1-month birthday he was released from the hospital and got to spend his month birthday at home. For Ez’s 1st birthday in 2022 he went through his second Open Heart Surgery. His second surgery was longer, harder, and scarier. He spent almost 12 hours on bypass and went through Heart Failure before they were finally finished. To prove how strong he truly is, Ez was released from the hospital 11 days after surgery. Ez will need future surgeries as his heart grows, but we know he will surprise us yet again with how resilient he is.
