A little about me and why I walk every year in the Cleveland Congenital Heart Walk.
At 9 months old, my pediatrician discovered a heart murmur. After many months and multiple tests, it was discovered that I had a hole in my heart. Open heart surgery was the only option to repair the hole. Additional procedures before the surgery also showed that one of my arteries was routed incorrectly and would need fixed too.
My open-heart surgery was on March 22, 2022. I was two years old. Today, I am 5 and will soon be starting Kindergarten! I'm thriving and love ballet, tap, soccer and swimming. I'm so grateful for the doctors and surgeon who saved my life!
By walking, I am helping to save the lives of other children with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) through raising awareness and funds that drive the life-saving research, advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects. #onemoreheartbeat
