Chicago Congenital Heart Walk

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am participating in the Congenital Heart Walk to support the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research.

I hope you'll join me by supporting my fundraising efforts as I work to raise funds for life-saving research.

Maverick was diagnosed with HLHS in May 2020 at 20 weeks gestation. From there our journey began. Maverick was born 9/14/20. At 3 days old he had the Norwood procedure. From there he was on oxygen and a feeding tube with thickened liquids until after his second surgery, the Glenn procedure was Feb. 2021. After surgery he was able to be weaned off of oxygen before leaving the hospital, and a few months later he was weaned off of his feeding tube and thickened liquids. Since then life has been pretty normal. We go for routine Heart clinic appointments every 4-6 months, and every appointment ends on a positive note. Maverick is a rowdy rambunctious Heart Warrior that never fails to amaze us. We are so excited to do this walk in honor of him and all of the Heart Warriors.
