Welcome to Super Matu's fundraising page! Every 15 minutes, a baby in this country is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs America's most common birth defect. The Congenital Heart Walk is dedicated to raising funds to support The Children's Heart Foundation's mission: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding the most promising research.
Our Heart Angel Matthew was born on July 28, 2015. He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. What the heck is that? The left side of his heart did not develop properly. He lived 11 months with only the right side of his heart functioning. Can you imagine living with only half of your heart? He gave one hell of a fight but HLHS won the battle.
Twice as many children die from Congenital Heart Defects each year than from all forms of Childhood Cancer combined, yet funding for pediatric cancer research is five times higher than funding for CHD.
