Oklahoma Congenital Heart Walk

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am participating in the Congenital Heart Walk to support the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research.

In 2017 at my 20 week check up, Oaklee was diagnosed with HLHS. After meeting with several specialists, my husband and I found out that there were more complications than what we originally thought. Oaklee had HLHS and a few other major complications as well. With all of these complications we were looking at several complicated surgeries and a less than 10% chance of survival for our daughter. My husband and I made the incredibly tough decision not to pursue the surgeries and to place Oaklee on comfort care and spend as much time as possible with her. She was born on February 15, 2018. The doctors did not anticipate her making it after delivery but we were blessed to spend 9 days with Oaklee before she was called home. Our sweet Oaklee made her way to heaven on February 24. We are so grateful for organizations such as The Children’s Heart Foundation who provide support to children and families affected by CHD as well as partnerships with specialists who are working to advance research in CHDs, for children like our Oaklee.
