My son Jack was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries under the ninth full moon of 2021 and died under the tenth. He would have had a much better chance of survival if his condition had been diagnosed in the womb, but it wasn't. We didn't know anything was wrong until a few hours after his birth when he started dying because his patent ductus arteriosus was closing.
I thought that the 29 days we spent with Jack as he fought to survive would be the hardest of my life, but I was naive. I support the Children's Heart Foundation in the hope that fewer people will have to experience what I do.
