Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am participating in the Congenital Heart Walk to support the mission of The Children's Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research.

About Me

Lilly is our little Lionheart proving herself to be the strong and brave little girl that she is. Although in our home we like to call her peanut she likes to show off her fierce personality. Lilly was born with congenital heart deffect, she had Coarctation of the aortic arch. This is where there is narrowing/ defects of the aortic arch.  This main blood vessel carries oxygen-rich blood but the coarctation was causing an obstruction of blood flow. When Lilly was five days old she had undergone open heart surgery to correct this issue within her heart. Four days later we found out Lilly's left lung was not working. They then did another surgery for her diaphragm because it was stuck in the upward position due to nerve damage from the first surgery which didn't let Lilly's lung open up. Lilly was still on a ventilator this whole time which unfortunately her left lung collapsed. Our Lionheart pushed through each obstacle showing her strength to all the doctors, nurses, and staff. Lilly grew quite the fan club while in the NICU, she constantly had nurses coming to visit her because they loved her "fierce" and "fiesty" attitude. Lilly then came home with us a month later and enjoyed Halloween with her family.

Now Lilly is seven months old and thriving! She is living her best life with her parents and pup. Lilly has so much personality to her that her expressions will make anyone laugh. She has a smile that lightens up the whole room and will brighten anyones day. Lilly has proven to be a warrior and a fighter. She has strength that continues to amaze those around her. Lilly is our Lionheart.
