Western Michigan Congenital Heart Walk

This year is the 6th year Cam's Crew has joined up the Congenital Heart Walk. Our heart walk journey started in 2017 when our second son Cameron was diagnosed with a large VSD, ASD and coarctation of the aorta when he was 2 months old. We took him to his 2 month check up where a murmur was identified. He developed congestive heart failure and was admitted to a local children's hospital for 5 days. We were discharged with the plan for surgery in 6 months, but Cameron wasn't able to wait that long. His health quickly declined and we were admitted to Mott children's hospital. There were several hiccups along the way but they were able to complete his open heart surgery on December 13, 2017. We were discharged home just before Christmas. Cam is such a strong boy and everyday shows us why he is still here!
