I want to express my heartfelt thanks for taking a moment to visit my fundraising page. As Many of you know Lannah was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect, known as AV septal defect.  Our hopes were that she could pull through as she had to come into the world earlier than we expected. Our amazing pediatric cardiologist at Duke did everything he could think of to help her heart. Even when she was in me still growing we tried heart medication through me taking it, to help her heart grow and work stronger. Unfortunately, we had no luck and she began to have fluid accumulation all through her body known as hydrops. When she arrived her heart just couldn't get stronger with just medication. She was too small for surgery. After 2 weeks of her little body fighting as hard as it could, her kidneys began to shut down and our hearts began to break tremendously. God was calling her home and it was time to make her comfortable instead of pokes, sticks, tubes, and constant aggravation to her little body. As we held our baby and sang to her as she took her last breaths, I will forever be changed. I pray that science and research can continue to make new advances to help these little hearts. I am grateful to my dear friend Jacinda for finding this walk and creating this group to honor my sweet girl. 

My commitment to making a difference has led me to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk, an event that carries immense significance for me. It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward changing lives. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation and their crucial mission - advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research.
