As of October 7th, 2025, 4 days ago Jake had his 3rd open heart surgery from his congential heart defect here at MUSC. He had his first open heart at 2, and his second at 17, and now his 3rd when he 33. He is a Husband, Father, Son, Uncle, and friend to many now. We were not aware of this, and found it, and thought it would be great to raise money to help others and prayefully prevent other children to have this with reaserch as well helping with diagnosis, and treatment.
Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect, making CHDs the most common birth defect in our country. The Congenital Heart Walk is dedicated to making a difference. Our mission is clear - we aim to raise funds to support The Children's Heart Foundation in its quest to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs by funding groundbreaking research.
