On March 14, 2022 I was blessed with the birth of my seventh grandchild, Mason. Shortly after he was born, he was rushed to a cardiac facility as it was discovered that his heart was not fully developed. One day after his birth he underwent his first cardiac operation. During the first year of his life, he required four heart procedures and lengthy hospitalizations. It was a very stressful and difficult time for our family. At two years old he is thriving and under the care of a cardiologist. He loves to play, has a great sense of humor, and looks forward to times with his family. While he is doing well and stable, the reality that open heart surgery is in his future weighs heavy on our hearts.
